Wash-faded Friendship

I’ve never had anyone cry over the artwork I gifted them being destroyed before… it’s a really weird, sad feeling. I don’t know what this is. It’s kind of flattery, kind of an “I’m not worthy of that much emotion”, and kind of just generally miserable. I didn’t think anybody could love anything that I made this much. :(

I mean, I don’t think it’s destroyed. I think it can be touched up a bit after it dries out (it went into a washing machine in a wallet) and it’ll still be just fine. I mean, Look at the year on that! “1996”. That’s not when I drew it, that’s when he and I became friends. It took a long, long time for us to break in our relationship and get it just the way we like it. Like a favourite pair of jeans.  And here we are. We’re a little beat up and tattered, but we are where we wanna be.

Our friendship is wash-faded.

My first BJD artist trading card commission arrived safely in the UK. Here’s Mohini holding her portrait: a picture of her and her husband Liam. Thanks for the photos, so glad you enjoy my artwork!

This is her little lady, Mohini, and her friend’s sinister gentleman, Liam. The scanner wasn’t too kind to the Tuscan red on her lips, but I must deal with it. :/Today is Liam and Mohini’s wedding day, how sweet!

edits done later: Her pants have been coloured a deeper shade of pink so they don’t blend in with her skin.Ugh, don’t even ask. I have no idea what this nightmaren’s problem is, I made her up as an excuse to test out my new neon gels. I scanned it just to see what would happen and she was terrifying- the neon stuff leeched out- so I took a picture. It’s absolutely ridiculous and I know it, she’s just a victim of my pen practice. XDShe’s got no name and I don’t think I’ll be drawing her again. If someone wants to buy her or something, feel free to ask, she’s definitely one of a kind now and forever. XD
